About Ed Kubosiak

Ed Kubosiak Jr. is a multi-talented digital journalist, fundraiser and team leader with a  25-year history of successfully growing audiences while leading award-winning local journalism coverage, most recently serving as Vice President of Content at MassLive.com.

MassLive was named website of the year by the New England Newspaper & Press Association in 2019, best mobile product in 2020 and captured several journalism awards under Kubosiak’s  stewardship, including a 2022 Publick Occurrences award for its reporting on the Northampton Veterans Affairs  hospital, which helped keep the facility open.

Kubosiak’s personal journey at MassLive was an impressive rise from Associate Producer  in 1998 - covering primarily high school sports - to being promoted to Editor-in-Chief in 2005, following stints leading social media and pro sports coverage, to eventually being named Vice President of Content in 2018 following the success of the site’s statewide expansion.  Previous to joining MassLive Kubosiak was a sports writer at The Daily Hampshire Gazette in Northampton, MA, following graduation from the College of the Holy Cross with a bachelor’s degree in English.

Ed is also dedicated to mission-driven non-profit work and community building, serving on the board of directors at the Springfield Public Forum from 2010 to the present, and as board president from 2016-2020. While serving as President of the Public Forum Ed brought speakers including Nikole Hannah-Jones, Jelani Cobb, Carly Fiorina and Steve Forbes to Springfield’s historic Symphony Hall stage. Kubosiak  also spearheaded a focus on fundraising to help offset rising speaker costs and increased annual corporate sponsorships from $40,000 to $125,000 annually during his presidency while also securing the Forum’s first-ever state budget earmark, with an additional $210,000 in funding over four years. 

 In addition to the Public Forum Kubosiak sits on the Springfield Cultural District’s board and previously served as board and executive committee member with Leadership Pioneer Valley. 

Kubosiak is adept at working with and through others to achieve specific strategic goals, provides clear strategic vision, enjoys being a mentor and is a strong communicator. A strong leader, journalist and thinker, Ed’s steady day-to-day presence combined with a willingness to envision new opportunities and embrace change has brought growth and success to each of his career endeavors.
